Better Than I've Ever Been
NIKE's Air Force 1 25th Anniversary-inspired Song, "Better Than I've Ever Been", Available on iTunes Feb. 20th
(February 15, 2007 - New York, NY) The much talked about collaboration on the NIKE- commissioned hip hop track, "Better Than I've Ever Been" which features Kanye West, Nas and KRS-One, and produced by Rick Rubin, will be available on February 20th on iTunes.
In 1982, the Air Force 1 became the first basketball shoe to feature NIKE Air technology. The comfort and protective qualities of the AF1 changed the game forever and created a platform that launched NIKE's long-running legacy in performance basketball.
Embraced and revered by the basketball community the Air Force 1's impact was felt way beyond its hard court roots. The shoe had something unique about it and was embraced as quickly off the court as it was on. In 2006, NIKE commemorated the Air Force 1's 25th anniversary. As part of these celebrations, NIKE commissioned a stellar cast of artists to record an original track that pays homage to the perseverance of the AF1 and the community that has championed it.
A remix of the track by DJ Premier and featuring the addition of Rakim, titled "Classic (Better Than I've Ever Been DJ Premier Remix)" will also be available on iTunes for purchase. The tracks will be sold individually and all NIKE and artist proceeds from the sale of the track will be donated to the "NIKE Youth Sport for Change Fund," to support youth programs that use sport as a catalyst for change.

File this under rockabilly/folk/progressive. A nice story - think of the kitchen of a shared house. Our main characters Tervor and Hannah-Lou Moss battle their nerves and tentatively play each other new material of unrequited love. Niether realise the other is their muse. They agree to a couple of gigs and soon rope in an entourage of like minded folk players. The result is their debut: Indigo Moss. Despite their clear London accents, the music is pure bluegrass americana folk. It's charming and simple but after a few tracks I found it grating on me. Each song sounds similar to the previous, the harmonica shrieks and the vocal melodies all consist of the same few notes, sung in a nasal, throaty manner. Not the best.

Bowman: timewaster of the day
I'm procrastinating and I found a fun online game. It's a well worn theme, like the old catapult games but still fun. The game is bowman and the concept is very simple. You are a bowman (or archer to use the proper name)with a CPU or human opponent. You have to judge the power and angles to hit your opponent. First person to score a direct hit wins. Simple and fun, give it a go by clicking on the picture.

Virgin Records is re-releasing Meds, the newest album by London-based alternative rock trio PLACEBO on January 23, 2007, the label announced. The album was originally released in the U.S. earlier in 2006 through the Astralwerks label.
The Virgin Records edition of Meds, described by the band as a back-to-basics project with the elemental feeling of a first album, will add three songs not on the Astralwerks release, "Lazarus," "UNEEDMEMORETHANINEEDU," and a cover of Kate Bush's "Running Up That Hill." R.E.M.'s Michael Stipe duets on the track "Broken Promise," and Alison Mosshart of The Kills is a guest on the title track.
